Childrens Recpies

Cooked Play Dough
1 C flour                                 1T oil
1C water                                1/2C salt
2t cream of tartar


     Mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar together in a heavy pan.  Add water, oil, and color if desired.  Stir all together.  Cook for about three minutes, stirring constantly until the mixture pulls away from the side of the pan, making sure the center of the ball is not sticky.  Cool and knead.  When cool, store in an air-tight container.


 



Salt Dough
4C flour                             1 1/2C water  or less
1C salt
    Stir dry ingredients together in a large bowl; then add water and mix.  Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead for 10 min.
     When done with sculptures bake at 350 for half an hour.   or until dry.
