Price book in the making

I have always wanted to start a price book.  I am always looking for the cheepest place to buy stuff.  So I have decided to start one online.  I will take what we normally buy and post the price we spend on it.  I shop mostly at aldi's and Meijers.  But sometimes they are not the best prices.  I just found that Gordon Food Services is cheaper on ketchup.  Now I need to find out if I can freeze the left overs.  Anyhow I will be posting on this thread to find the cheapest places for our food.

Freezing ketchup doesn't work very well as it gets watery after it's thawed.

I would suggest canning the excess in pint jars or quart jars. We have made homemade ketchup and we can ours.

To water bath can ketchup: Pour into clean, hot sterilized jars. Seal. Process for 10 minutes in boiling-water bath. Remove from canner. Cool on wire rack. Label and store.

It's a great idea to have a price book. I need to start one as well :) Having a large family, I mainly shop in bulk. Hard to find sometimes :(

Wonderful blog, I added you to mine :)

I have decided to do this too. I am going to write down the prices of items on index cards and then be able to compare from place to place. I shop at the commisary at our Air Force base, Walmart, Sam's, and Kroger (ocassionally).

Blessings,

Trixi
