Feminine Friday~Abide in her house

While thinking about what to do for todays Feminine Friday it came to mind that sometimes the best way to define something is by its antonyms.  

The verses on the strange woman kept going through my mind.  I am sure we have all looked at Proverbs 7 as the way not to go.  But rereading through it one thing that I noticed was verse 11.

Proverbs 7:11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in  her house:

I want to look at the second part of that verse.

Her feet abide not in her house.

The other day my little ones were playing and my little girl said

"time to go"  It was greeted with a "Oh do we need groceries or is it church?"

I had to laugh as to her that is when you go.  Now I am not against someone getting out for a time of relaxation but how often do we really NEED that time away.  I know for me I so enjoy my date with my hubby,  most often here at home and the time at church is such a refreshment to my soul.  Those times help me get through.  This verse is talking about someone who HAS to be out or they will go crazy or so they think.  That is a strange woman.  

As Christian homemakers, wives and mothers our focus is on our home and our families.  And yes sometimes it can be a bit tiring but that is where our daily time with the Lord comes in.  

Each day he will give us what we need to get through,  we do not need to go out to get refreshment.  Our refreshment comes to us by reading the Words of Life.  The Lord has it right there waiting for us but so often we don't utilize it.  We think it is by getting out of the house that we will be refreshed.  How sad that we go looking for refreshment in the world rather than in the Word.

And as hubby and I were talking about this this verse came up.

Proverbs 24:34  So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

That word travelleth doesn't mean a long trip it just means to "go, walk, go away"

How many times have we said that,  I just need to get away.  The Bible tells us when we do that is how our poverty comes,  by just having to "get away"   It is so easy to just get away and spend a little bit of money here and there and before you know it it is almost as if you are putting your money in a bag of wholes.

So how do we fix this problem.  Learn to be content,  learn to focus on our homes and our children and our husbands.  Make our home a happy fun place to be so our girls will learn to have hearts for home.  God will help us with this.  Remember contentment is from the root word content.  What we put into our selves determines our contentment.  We need to be in him and he will help our desires to be the things that he wants.  Yield to his Holy Ghost and he will help you.  And if you say well that isn't me, I just wasn't raised that way.

Remember If any man is in Christ he is a NEW creature,  OLD things are passed away.  and I CAN DO ALL THINGS (even learn to be content at home) through Christ which strengtheneth me!!
